Sunday Filton College Female Football Academy make the short trip to Gloucester to take on Gloucester City Ladies in the quarter final of the GFA Womens Challenge Cup. With both teams having comfortably reached this stage of the competition the game looks set to be a tight affair. Both teams have had good season's so far and will be looking to win the game to progress through to the semi final. Head Coach of Female Football Mark Sampson is looking forward to the game which is one of not many "local derbies" the college team get to play.
"We are looking forward to the game. Our Academy team are all under 19 and it will be a big challenge for us to play against a senior womens team. Having said that we have lots of players with experience of senior football already and I am sure the ones who have yet to experience senior football will enjoy the challenge Sunday.
"The County Cup is important to us and it is a competition we are determined to win this season so this is a game we cannot take lightly and must ensure we produce a strong performance to give ourselves the best chance of progressing to the semi final. We played Gloucester pre season so we know they are a good outfit and have shown that with their results in the Cup and League this season. We will need to make sure we are at our best in every area."
