Filton College moved five points clear at the top of their English Colleges League with a convincing 11-1 victory over Seevic College. Earlier in the season Seevic inflicted Filton's first defeat of the season when they recorded a 3-2 win over the reigning English Schools and English Colleges Cup holders. But Filton showed they have progressed over the season and recorded a comfortable win after an excellent show of quality finishing in the first half. Midfield player Paige Stewart led the way with a hat trick closely followed by her midfield partner Tish Price and striker Annie Martin who both bagged a brace.
The win was another step towards retaining their English Colleges League Championship they won last season and another step towards the Champions of Champions play off where they hope to win the only trophy that illuded them last season. Next Wednesday Filton continue their quest for the Championship when they travel to fellow title challengers Reading.
